French game development studio Opus Major has revealed its debut title MAJJAM. The game is a cooperative multiplayer adventure centered around music as both a creative and gameplay mechanic. Set in a stylized, dreamlike open world, MAJJAM invites players to collaborate in real-time to explore, interact, and push back an encroaching darkness using the power of music. MAJJAM is not a rhythm game and does not require players to have any musical training. As players explore and take action in the world, their interactions generate harmonized melodies and rhythms in real-time. The game’s proprietary self-harmonizing technology enables seamless cooperative play with minimal latency, even in online multiplayer sessions. Alongside the reveal, Opus Major has confirmed that development is ongoing and progressing steadily. A limited alpha version of MAJJAM is planned for release later this year, offering players an early opportunity to experience the game’s unique mechanics and world. More details about MAJJAM and its universe will be revealed over time as the studio continues to expand on its vision.
