Warm Embrace: Aysha Mattar’s Reflections on Bahrain

Bahrain-based stylist Aysha Mattar juggles many roles: mother, wife, and environmentalist. Her career has evolved from running a pioneering fashion blog in 2009 to becoming a conscious personal stylist for both women and men. Aysha combines her passion for fashion and sustainability by helping clients build wardrobes that reflect their true selves, focusing on upcycling and preloved items. Her process, paired with positivity, prioritizes individuality over trends. What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Bahrain, and why? Home, safety, and gratitude. Ironically, we often forget what it truly means to live surrounded by loved ones and how we should never take it for granted. In your opinion, what does the future of Bahrain look like 10 years from now? I hope we’ll maintain our strong sense of safety while expanding our reach and connections to the rest of the world. If you could safeguard one aspect of Bahrain’s culture or heritage for future generations, what would it be? The sense of community.
