The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has confirmed the death of one of its officers identified as Shuaibu King-David in the Kogi State jailbreak. The NCoS Service Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Umar, said in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja. At least 12 inmates escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Koton-Karfe, Kogi State, on Monday. Umar stated that King-David bravely stood his ground to prevent the escape of the inmates and protect the integrity of the custodial centre. The spokesman added that King-David’s courageous sacrifice reflected his unwavering dedication to service and national security.
