PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu, Others Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday announced the expulsion of former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the party’s factional National Chairman, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, over alleged anti-party activities.Their expulsion was approved during the PDP National Convention currently taking place in Ibadan. The motion, moved by one of the party’s founding fathers, Chief Bode George, received unanimous backing from delegates and was seconded by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.Also expelled were the PDP National Legal Adviser, Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN); Umar Bature; AbdulRahman Mohammed; Mao Chunduabuwa; George Turner; Austin Nwachukwu; Abraham Ammah; and Dan Orbih.The party said the decision was necessary to restore discipline and reposition the PDP ahead of future political contests.
