China Bans Powerbanks Without 3C Approval From Flights
China has now enacted new legislation, requiring all passengers carrying powerbanks on flights to have 3C approval. If a powerbank does not have 3C approval or “China Compulsory Certification”, then it will not be allowed to be carried on flights. The checks are carried out for all passengers flying from China to abroad, and are not specific to the airline.This was taken in line with various incidents globally involving fires or powerbanks that overheated during flights. Previously, several airlines have tightened their respective regulations, and some do not allow the use of powerbanks in flights, and require powerbanks to be with the user at all times.Last year alone, two incidents involving powerbanks on flights were recorded every two weeks.In addition to the legislation in China, recently, Anker has recalled several of their products due to risks.
