Snapchat Introduces New ‘Home Safe Alerts’ Feature
Snapchat has introduced a new feature called Home Safe Alert that allows users to notify their arrival at home to selected friends. This feature is manually activated through the location settings in the app and notifications are only sent to friends who have chosen to share their location via Snap Map.Users can set their home location by clicking on their Bitmoji in Snap Map and then selecting My Home. Once this location is set, only the user and selected friends who have shared the location will be able to see it. When the user arrives home, the notification will be sent only once and will automatically turn off. This is to avoid repeated notifications every time the user returns home.Snap states that this feature is designed with user privacy in mind. Notifications are only sent to friends who have shared their location without having to send a manual message. It is an additional option to quickly notify the arrival at home.
