Majdomo Moda Review – Simple and User-Friendly

As soon as I read the title, I'm sure many people still don't know this brand. Honestly, I was a bit confused when I received this watch and was asked to review it. The last time I reviewed a watch was in 2024 for the Huawei Watch Fit3 model.However, after I did a little research, it turns out that this brand is not that new, it's just starting to enter the Malaysian market. The watch I received also seemed to be of good quality in its class. The design is adequate and reminds me of watches from the CMF brand. I'm not the only one who feels that way, many also thought it was a new model from CMF. Once, while attending an event, someone asked 'Eh, is CMF new?!'. That situation did happen. But after examining it, although the design is almost the same, this watch is actually not from the brand.The front of this watch uses a round screen, a common design for smartwatches. Physically, it looks quite thick, especially on the bezel. The gray frame accentuates the thickness and makes it more visually obvious. In situations like this, I usually choose a black background to reduce the effect on the screen.However, with a gray frame, the black background is less effective in covering the thickness of the watch design. Even so, I personally have no problem with this design. Only for those with small hands, especially women, this size may seem large when worn.I think this watch is light at approximately 340 grams. When worn, it feels like wearing a regular watch. That's why I'm comfortable wearing it for long periods of time, including when sleeping. The matte finish on the frame also helps reduce dirt such as fingerprints.With that, this watch looks clean even when worn all day. However, I noticed that this type of surface is quite easy to scratch if not properly maintained. I also noticed that this watch has rather sharp edges that make it more susceptible to scratches, especially if there is friction or impact. Therefore, you need to be more careful when wearing it in daily situations.For example, I once had a small incident when this watch hit the door of the house while leaving for work. The scratches that appeared showed that this watch is quite sensitive to light impacts. Luckily, the scratches were not too deep and could still be cleaned, so the watch looked normal again. But I also thought that if the scratches were deeper, they would definitely affect the overall look of the watch. Don't worry, I don't intend to test it to the extreme because this is just a loaner unit.This watch is equipped with a physical button on the right side which I found very useful for opening the main menu and returning to the original screen quickly. When pressed for a long time, this button will display several options such as Slide to Power Off, Slide to Restart and Slide to Call SOS.This button can also be rotated, but based on my experience, its rotation does not provide any additional functions. It is more of a design element and I think it adds a little interesting touch to the watch.The surface of this watch's button has a red triangular logo, a special symbol of the Majdomo brand. On the left side of the watch, there are no buttons or physical components, only branding designed to highlight the product's identity in terms of appearance. I also find the screen navigation function on the Majdomo Moda to be user-friendly. The touch gestures provided allow me to access various functions quickly and easily without feeling confused.When I swipe up from the main screen, various widgets will be displayed such as daily activity records, heart rate, blood oxygen level (SpO₂), pressure, sleep, as well as additional information such as step count, date and audio player. All these elements are neatly arranged, making the user experience more comfortable and efficient.Swiping down on the watch screen opens access to quick settings such as Bluetooth connection for calls, speaker control, battery status, brightness adjustment, as well as basic information about the watch. This function is very useful especially when I need quick access without having to go to the main menu.Swiping to the right allows me to read notifications from supported apps like WhatsApp and Instagram. Although this watch doesn't support the direct message reply function, I can still find out about incoming messages quickly and easily without having to open the phone.However, one thing that bothers me a little is the vibration of the watch when receiving notifications. Sometimes the vibration feels too strong or frequent to the point of disturbing comfort, especially when I'm focusing or resting.Meanwhile, swiping to the left on the watch screen displays a list of apps that I frequently use or have set as favorites. Among the accessible ones are contacts, call history, keypad for making calls, and various exercise modes. This feature makes it easier for me in daily use because I can directly open the required apps without having to search for them one by one.However, at first I was a little clumsy because I rarely use this watch for sports activities. On the contrary, I use it more often for daily purposes such as monitoring heart rate, sleep time, and weather. Over time, I started to get used to it and found the functions offered to be very helpful in my daily routine.The Majdomo Moda interface layout is very organized, with colorful icons that are not only pleasing to the eye, but also make it easy for me to move from one function to another. In addition, I can choose up to seven types of icon layout themes according to my comfort.Among the available options are the circular layout like in HarmonyOS (Huawei watch), regular list, crossed circles, Honeycomb like Huawei, as well as several other styles such as Turbulence, Halo, Whirling, and Waterfall.Of all the available layout options, I like to use Honeycomb and Whirling the most. Both look attractive and are easy to use. It also makes it easy for me to find apps quickly without having to search for them one by one.I also noticed that on the bottom of this watch there is a built-in sensor that works for health and fitness monitoring. Usually, the green light will light up when the sensor is working properly while the red light indicates that there may be interference or issues in the readings.This watch is equipped with a pair of speakers and three small holes for built-in microphones. Based on my experience, the audio quality produced sounds good and clear on both sides. Throughout use, there was no interference or delay in terms of audio and I really praise its capabilities.For charging, this watch uses two special pins that remind me of the charging system of brands like Amazfit and Honor Band. It is easy to connect, but the pins need to be positioned precisely so that charging is stable. A little movement can disrupt the connection, so users need to make sure the watch is placed correctly while charging.This watch strap is made of soft rubber that is comfortable to wear all day. Although the quality may not be very premium, it still works well and does not cause irritation to the skin. Interestingly, this strap is designed with a row of holes that make it easy to adjust the size. It can be adjusted and opened using a special pin, so the process of removing and reattaching the strap becomes easy.This watch strap hook is made of ordinary plastic. In terms of durability, it may be at risk of breaking or breaking if used roughly or exposed to excessive pressure. However, this hook has a good grip and is not easily detached compared to some metal hooks that sometimes feel slippery in certain situations.I admit that the AMOLED display on the Majdomo Moda is quite attractive. With a size of 1.32 inches and a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, this screen looks sharp and bright. Although this brand is not as popular as Samsung, Huawei or Apple, the display of this watch is still satisfactory especially when used outdoors. The screen is still clear even under sunlight.Personally, I really like its visual quality. Colors look vivid, text is easy to read, and the overall display experience feels premium. The only minor drawback is that there is no automatic brightness adjustment function according to the surrounding conditions. Usually this feature can help the screen adjust the lighting on its own.Although there is no automatic brightness adjustment, I can still change the brightness manually through several setting options. For me, this shortcoming is not too noticeable and does not affect the user experience. The display remains bright and comfortable to see in various lighting conditions, including outdoors.The watch also supports the Always-On Display function which can be activated through the settings. It allows me to see the time and date without having to press anything. There are various watch faces to choose from, and I can save up to 12 options at once.If I want more, I just need to download and manage it through the connection app. In terms of quality, the display of this watch is bright and clear in most lighting conditions. The resolution is good, the colors look vivid, and the text is easy to read.Connection AppBefore using, this watch needs to be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. The application required is Gloryfit Pro and can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. To start using it, users need to register first. The registration process is very easy and can be done using a Gmail account.This review is based on experience using an iOS device because I only tested it through that platform. As soon as I opened the application, the first thing I noticed was the interface (UI) which is very similar to the Huawei Health application.I am not alone and my colleagues also think the same. Because of this, I was not at all awkward to use it. However, I understand that there may be new users who feel a little confused at first. But don't worry but believe me, this application is very easy to use. Seriously, it is as easy as ABC.The interface of this application is bright and fresh with easily recognizable icon colors and backgrounds. It is divided into four main sections: Home, Sport, Device and Profile. In the Home section, I can see important health data such as step count, sleep time, heart rate, blood oxygen level and some other information.The Sport section displays daily activities and a brief sketch of each activity performed. Since I rarely run, I use this section more often to monitor oxygen levels, stress and daily fitness. Interestingly, it also shows my heart rate in real time.The Device section displays information about connected devices such as battery level, connection type, watch face, SMS, alarms, calls and active apps. I can also set important details such as address book, contact list and world clock. In addition, I can easily reset the device or check for firmware updates.The Profile section displays my weekly exercise statistics. Here, I can set daily goals and change various settings related to accounts and app usage. Everything is clear and easy to use. This watch can also connect to several third-party apps such as Atrava and Apple Health.The watch can read heart rate, but I found the readings to be inconsistent. There were days when I didn't wear it at all, but it still recorded as if I had worn it for 57 minutes. On that day, I was on vacation and didn't do any activity.On the other hand, the blood oxygen readings were more accurate. If no measurements were taken, it would show 0% as a sign of no activity. This is different from the pulse readings that sometimes still appear even when I'm not wearing the watch.The blood pressure and sleep readings also work well. For blood pressure monitoring, this watch can track almost all the time and most of the readings are within acceptable levels. The reminder to stand function is very helpful.It will alert you every three to four hours, and for me who works in front of a computer for 8 hours without moving much, this feature is really useful. I'm not the type to get up from my chair, so this notification at least gives me an awareness of my body's condition.For sleep monitoring, this watch works well overall. However, I noticed one weakness, it can't track short sleep or 'nap' time. Once I woke up at 3 am to finish some work, then went back to sleep around 5 am.But this watch still recorded me sleeping from 11pm to 6.30am, without tracking my waking hours. So, the readings are not very accurate. As I said, this watch can work and track well, but there are times when the readings are not very consistent for some functions.The GPS performance is a bit slow to lock the location, but I can still start the activity manually by pressing the button provided. This is very convenient especially when I want to keep moving without having to wait for the location to be fully locked.The Bluetooth connection is also very stable throughout use. There was no problem with disconnection except when I myself turned off the Bluetooth function on the smartphone. Notifications can be received well without any delay or lag. All incoming notifications can be read clearly and on time. Incoming calls can also be answered directly from the watch with the option to answer or reject the call.The only drawback I noticed is that this watch cannot be used to reply to messages, even short ones. This may be inconvenient for users who want to reply to messages directly from the watch.What I like about this watch is that its battery can be easily recharged when it runs out. After starting to charge, the main interface appears quickly without having to wait long. Unlike other watches I have used where most will display the brand logo first before showing the charging status.Battery LifeThe battery of this watch can last up to 8 days, depending on usage patterns. I started using it at 93% and after eight days it was 18%. The charging process is adequate and does not take long to fully charge.I usually charge the watch while getting ready for the office, so I did not have time to calculate the charging time accurately. However, based on experience, in less than an hour the battery can reach around 60% before I leave. This watch is charged using the special pin provided.The connection is strong and does not come off easily. Although the design of the charger works well, some users may need some time to get used to the way it is installed.ConclusionThis watch is practical, useful and user-friendly for daily use. The long-lasting battery can be used for up to eight days without having to be charged frequently. When it does need to be charged, the process is also quick and easy. The design is also comfortable to wear suitable for daily activities.It also has many smart functions such as message and call notifications as well as health features such as step counting, heart rate, and sleep monitoring. Overall, this watch is not just an accessory but a tool that helps me stay healthy and organized every day.
