Samsung to Launch Tri-Folding Phone This Year

Samsung will launch a smartphone with a tri-folding screen this year, according to a South Korean media report. The launch will be in H2 2025 and will certainly coincide with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series. In the same report, this tri-folding device will be offered in a limited number of units initially, which is under 300,000 units.It is also believed that it will not use a design like the Huawei Mate XT which is the world's first tri-folding device. The Samsung Display-produced panel will later not have exposed sides to prevent damage.In the prototype that was shown in early 2021, the Flex In & Out screen technology uses a plastic protector for the tri-folding screen. Durability is an important issue because in China there have been reports that the Mate XT screen is not very durable even though the device has just been launched.In addition to Samsung, Oppo and Tecno have also shown their tri-folding concept devices. Both companies said that they have no plans to offer it to the public in the near future.
