AI In China Needs To Answer 70,000 Questions Before It Is Certified Safe To Use

What can be done to ensure that an artificial intelligence (AI) is safe for use by the public? China's Cyberspace Administration (CAC) now requires AI developed by local companies to answer between 20,000 and 70,000 questions before it can be used by the public, according to a Wall Street Journal report.Based on the answers given, the accuracy of the information given can be measured. In addition, developers are given a list of up to 10,000 questions that cannot be answered. Included in this list are questions about the Communist Party and the Tiananmen Square event.China was the first country to impose various guidelines for AI and algorithms. Among those that have been enforced before is preventing algorithms from oppressing gig workers. The EU and the United States are still in the process of drafting guidelines for safe AI development. Meanwhile in Malaysia, the Artificial Intelligence Code of Ethics has been developed by MOSTI since last year
