Apple Reportedly In Discussions Using OpenAI Technology In iOS 18
iOS 18 will bring the biggest changes to the iPhone operating system this year. AI system integration will finally be given and some previous rumors said Apple will use Google Gemini technology as the backbone of iOS 18's generative AI system.But according to a Bloomberg report, Apple is currently in talks with OpenAI to use their technology as the backbone of the same AI system.This is probably because Apple wants to have a choice before choosing whether to use Google or OpenAI technology. There were previous reports that for China, Apple will use Baidu's technology because Google and OpenAI are blocked in that country.Apple has developed several AI models that can run directly on smartphones. But because they are late entrants into the LLM arena, these homegrown models may not be ready for use.
