‘Brilliantly written?’ CNN reporter drags Trump after eyebrow-raising reversal

CNN Correspondent Kristen Holmes dragged President Donald Trump on Friday on his alleged flip-flop on U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who on Friday called a decision of hers “brilliantly written,” despite reportedly complaining about the judge in private for months.A reporter asked Trump on Friday for his take on criticisms directed at Barrett from his supporters, most of which pertain to several votes of hers dissenting from Trump’s agenda.“I just have great respect for her, I always have, and her decision was brilliantly written today from all accounts,” Trump said.Holmes, who in early June reported on Trump’s behind-closed-doors grievances with Barrett, which reportedly have been going on for “at least a year,” wasn’t buying it.“Brilliantly written?” Holmes questioned. “Obviously that is different from what I heard just a few weeks ago from people who had spoken to him directly about his opinion of Amy Coney Barrett.”A senior official told CNN earlier this month that Trump’s grievances with Barrett have been over “a few different events,” and not just a single ruling, with Trump reportedly complaining that her behavior had not been in line with how she presented herself prior to her appointment.Barrett has ruled against Trump in several instances; she joined Chief Justice John Roberts’ decision to reject Trump’s request to postpone his trial related to hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2024 election, and this year, she objected, in part, to tossing out the appeal of Venezuelan detainees.Trump’s comments come in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to side with Trump in his effort to eliminate birthright citizenship, a win Holmes admitted likely had the president and his administration “soaring very high.”“But there is no denying it, that right now the White House is soaring very high and they are feeling very good about this,” she said.Watch the video below or use this link.
