'Superman' review: Not quite up, up and away

At least it's not another origin story. James Gunn's "Superman" correctly assumes we already know about Superman and we don't need to be filled in on the details of how he came to Earth, which we know by heart from countless retellings of his story since Superman first showed up in Action Comics No. 1 nearly 90 years ago. Gunn even fast forwards past Lois Lane not knowing Clark Kent is Supes, which clears up three-quarters of the storytelling a new take on the solar-powered superhero could easily get lost inside. But the familiarity with which the story is treated breeds a sort of blasé attitude toward the character that infects the entirety of "Superman," Gunn's wonderless take on the Man...
