Summer Festival to celebrate grand reopening of Brookdale Cafe

BROOKDALE — It has been six months since the Brookdale Cafe in the historic Brookdale Lodge announced its closure, but it will not stay that way for long. Local restaurateur Mario Ibarra has taken the mantle of ownership and will be celebrating its reopening Sunday with a ribbon cutting ceremony, live music and of course, food from the Brookdale Cafe’s new menu for an event known as the Summer Festival. Ibarra is happy to take over a business with a lot of history. “It’s such a beautiful place,” he said. “It’s a nice venue there that I think we can make it work and have a bunch of events. It’s a good place for the community to hang out.”...
