CNN beats attorney’s defamation suit

RICHMOND, Va. — CNN prevailed over a defamation suit brought in Virginia court by Kashyap Patel, an attorney who served in President Trump’s first administration, accusing the network of falsely connecting him to the spread of conspiracy theories about Trump. The Virginia Court of Appeals held that Patel did not bring compelling evidence that CNN and its reporters acted with actual malice or reckless disregard for the truth.
