On Saturday morning, MSNBC host Michael Steele hammered Democratic insiders for their knee-jerk response to President Joe Biden's poor debate performance, saying they need to calm down.As co-host on MSNBC's "The Weekend," Steele cautioned Democrats and liberal commentators to settle down and think it through before making a full-fledged effort to force Biden to drop out of the race.Reacting to the panic expressed after Biden stumbled his way through his debate with Donald Trump, former RNC head Steele told his co-hosts, "The big freak out Thursday night even stunned me. I mean, in politics it was so immediate to me, so fast.""We were talking with former Lieutenant Governor [Mandela] Barnes about the fact that, you know, on the Republican side it's like 'We're good, our guy is a criminal, our guy is a sexual predator, we're good.' Democrats: 'Oh my god, he slurred a word!'""He did not just slur a word, it was a bad performance," co-host Symone Sanders-Townsend interjected."I will not take away from that, I got it, it was a bad performance, it did not meet anyone's expectations," Steele replied. "The thing that amazes me is just the immediate decision by so many in the party to just go: 'Okay, I'm done, I can't do this.'""Explain some of this, I don't understand," he continued. "On my side of the aisle, I would hunker down, get the press release out, close the doors, we are going to work it out and when we get outside, we will steamroll."Watch below or at the link.
