'How ironic': J.D. Vance faces blowback after his Tim Walz criticism is applied to Trump

Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance faced a furious onslaught of criticism late Wednesday night after he appeared on CNN and complained that Gov.Tim Walz's stirring acceptance speech amounted to whining. Speaking with host Jake Tapper, the Ohio senator, at one point stated, "I just don't understand a person in American politics in 2024 who is whining about what happened to them instead of using their leadership and influence to make the lives of American citizens better." That led many critics on X, formerly known as Twitter, to point out that his criticism could easily be applied to his running mate, former president Donald Trump. "Ah, Vance's critique sounds almost tailor-made for Trump! It's almost as if he's describing a leader who specializes in whining about personal grievances instead of actually improving lives.
