Former President Donald Trump connected a recent attempt on his life to the criminal and civil court cases filed against him Monday in a new Truth Social post responding to the dismissal of his classified documents case. Trump claimed he wanted to move forward with "Uniting our Nation" before accusing prosecutors of an elaborate political witch hunt against him and E. Jean Carroll, the writer he has been found liable of sexually abusing and repeatedly defaming, of lying. "The Democrat Justice Department coordinated ALL of these Political Attacks," Trump wrote Monday, "which are an Election Interference conspiracy against Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, ME."EXCLUSIVE: Trump’s ‘secretary of retribution’ has a ‘target list’ of 350 people he wants arrestedTwo days after 20-year-old Thomas Crooks aimed an AK-15 at the former president at a political rally, Trump lashed out at special counsel Jack Smith, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, New York Attorney General Letitia James and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Smith has charged Trump with Espionage Act violations and election interference, Bragg spearheaded the criminal conviction on falsifying business records charges, James successfully sued Trump for civil fraud damages amounting to $464 million, and Willis has accused Trump of election racketeering in Georgia. Trump dubbed those cases witch hunts, hoaxes, and scams He claimed he had "never met" Carroll other than in "a decades old photo in a line with her then husband does not count." Trump has twice been found liable for defamation — with rulings of $5 million and $83.3 million — over claims he never sexually abused Carroll."This dismissal of the Lawless Indictment in Florida should be just the first step, followed quickly by the dismissal of ALL the Witch Hunts," Trump wrote. "Let us come together to END all Weaponization of our Justice System, and Make America Great Again!"
