Infamously indecisive Maine Sen. Susan Collins (R) revealed to state reporters that she won't be casting a ballot for Donald Trump. Speaking to a group, she said that instead, she'll cast a ballot for someone who has endorsed Trump: Nikki Haley. The former Trump opponent isn't on the ballot, so Collins said she'll write Haley in, WGME reported Friday. Collins notably told CBS News in Feb. 2020 that she voted against Trump's impeachment for the Ukraine bribery scheme because Trump learned a "pretty big lesson" from impeachment and will be "much more cautious" in the future. EXCLUSIVE: Trump’s ‘secretary of retribution’ has a ‘target list’ of 350 people he wants arrestedTrump then claimed the 2020 election was stolen, attempted to overturn the election with a group of loyalist lawyers and legislators, and then encouraged a large, violent group of supporters to "march to the Capitol," where they staged an insurrection. Collins explained that she still "likes" Haley and that's the reason she intends to cast a ballot for her over President Joe Biden, a Democrat who she views to be in "cognitive decline." "I publicly endorsed Nikki Haley, and I wanted her to win. She’s still my favorite candidate, and I think she could do a great job. She’s my choice, and that’s how I’m going to express it," Collins told WMTW-TV.Collins has purportedly been a Biden fan in the past, but has spent three years rejecting all judicial nominees in a partisan vote."It is often said that if you don’t love Joe Biden, it is time for some serious introspection,” Collins said in 2020.Colins will not have a speaking position at the Republican National Convention next week.
