Trump's V.P. pick pens foreword to Project 2025 book after ex-president denies involvement

Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts, who spearheaded the "Project 2025" drafting, is publishing a new book in which he claims the far-right will take "back" Washington, D.C.Roberts brought in one of the right-wing movement's new characters, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), to write a review to help sell the book, and it is causing a lot of laughter and a lot of anger. "Project 2025" is the Heritage Foundation's 900-plus-page guide to how the government will be run if Trump wins in 2024. It outlines a mass firing of civil servants, non-partisan, non-political staff, and experts who work for government agencies. They would be replaced with staff who swear an oath to Donald Trump. Other changes include eliminating the Department of Education and other agencies. "Never before has a figure with Roberts' depth and stature within the American right tried to articulate a genuinely new future for conservatism... We are now all realizing that it's time to circle the wagons and load the muskets. In the fight that lay ahead, these ideas are an essential weapon," Vance said.
