The View hosts laugh as they create new nickname for J.D. Vance

The co-hosts of "The View" continued to express their befuddlement about why Donald Trump chose Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) as his running mate as they chatted Monday opening. Former Republican consultant Ana Navarro sang the praises of Vice President Kamala Harris, who she said she saw on Thursday. "I told her something real sassy. That's why she's laughing because she's got a sense of humor, and the energy, the enthusiasm, the joyfulness, the positivity, the optimism that this campaign is able to channel," Navarro said, showing a photo. Vance suggested in a resurfaced 2021 interview that any woman without a child has no real investment in the future of the United States. "And don't complain that we're calling you weird because you've attacked her on her dating history," Navarro said. The right has attacked Harris for dating a number of famous people in her youth. "You have called her a DEI hire. You've said everything she's got is because of her gender and her skin color. You've called her all sorts of names. So, I think we're being really kind and gracious by just calling you weird, and frankly, J.D Vance, just, dumb Vance, is pretty weird."Whoopi Goldberg jumped in, reminding Navarro that she was the one who came up with the joke that J.D. stood for "just dumb.""But let me say this," Navarro continued. "You know, they've given him, like, Megyn Kelly, Fox News, they've given him, J.D Vance, all these opportunities to clean up his childless cat lady comment, and he hasn't been able to. Like, he ended up apologizing to the cats instead of to the ladies!"She said that's how American voters should know that he means what he says. Meanwhile, she said that over the weekend she saw more enthusiasm from friends and allies for Harris. Alyssa Farah Griffin, an ex-White House communications director for Trump, said that her Republican friends are signing up to hear more about Harris on Zoom calls that garnered attention in the past week.
