Sailor caught trying to breach president's medical reports: Navy

A low-level Navy sailor was punished for attempting to access the private medical records of President Joe Biden, the U.S. Navy confirmed on Tuesday. According to CBS News, the military will not release the name of the sailor but noted that he is "a junior enlisted sailor serving in the Navy's hospital corps and is based at Fort Belvoir, in Virginia."An official said the military health system Genesis was accessed three times on Feb. 23, but "he did not pull up the right Joe Biden."ALSO READ: Why I'm sticking with Joe Biden"The MHS Genesis system is a secure health system, and at no time was the President's personal information compromised," said Navy Commander Tim Hawkins when contacted by CBS. An investigation was launched into the sailor by the Navy Criminal Investigative Service on Feb. 26 when a colleague of the individual reported the incident. The sailor said that he was investigating "out of curiosity." The probe concluded on April 24, the official told CBS. The sailor "never reached the president's medical record." In fact, he couldn't have accessed the information because it is restricted. Critics and media have spent the better part of the past few weeks after the first presidential debate investigating Biden's health and mental stability. The name of a neurologist with expertise in Parkinson's Disease had been to the White House several times over the past year. He is part of the White House medical team as the senior neurologist at Walter Reed. As White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told the press briefing room on Monday, she must be cautious when revealing medical information about the work being done by White House neurologists. “There are thousands of military personnel who come on to this White House,” Jean-Pierre said. “Many of them get the care from the White House medical unit and so we need to be super careful.”Biden has only seen the neurologist three times as part of his annual physical, the letter from the doctor said. The doctor also claimed that he wasn't there to deal specifically with Parkinson's but as a neurologist who addresses issues for the military and staff in the White House.
