On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the “Great Beautiful Act,” which outlines a new tax and immigration policy, along with key budgetary provisions. The signing ceremony took place with formal celebrations on Independence Day. This was reported by Reuters. “We made promises — and these are not just promises made, but promises kept. And we delivered,” the American president declared. He also called the law a “triumph of democracy on the birthday of democracy,” expressing confidence that “people are happy that this law has finally been passed.” As previously reported, earlier this week both chambers of the U.S. Congress succeeded — after several months of political battles — in passing the “Great Beautiful Act,” initiated by the Trump administration. The bill continues tax breaks introduced during Trump’s first term and implements his latest campaign promises. It also raises the national debt ceiling by $5 trillion, preventing a default that the Treasury would have faced within weeks. Passing the bill marked a political victory for the Republicans, who championed the legislation. Currently, the Republican Party controls both chambers of Congress, the executive branch, and holds a majority in the U.S. Supreme Court. The signing ceremony for the “Great Beautiful Act” took place on the South Lawn of the White House during the July 4th Independence Day celebrations. The event was attended by hundreds of Trump supporters, including administration officials, members of Congress, and families of U.S. service members. The atmosphere was further dramatized by the flyover of stealth bombers, similar to those used in recent U.S. strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran. During the ceremony, President Trump declared that the law represents: “The largest tax cut, the largest spending reduction, and the biggest investment in border security in U.S. history.” Following his speech, which was filled with praise for America’s rising strength under his leadership, Trump signed the bill, posed for photos with Republican congressional leaders and Cabinet members, and then mingled with a crowd of cheering supporters. According to Reuters, the passage of this law marked a major victory for Trump and his Republican allies, who claim it will stimulate economic growth — largely dismissing independent analyses predicting that the measure will increase the national debt by over $3 trillion, bringing the total to $36.2 trillion.
