Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Monday, August 11, signed an order to allocate an additional $2 million USD for the purchase of electrical equipment for Ukraine. According to the presidential decree, the funds will come from the 2025 state budget’s presidential reserve fund. “To purchase and deliver electrical equipment manufactured in the Republic of Azerbaijan for the purpose of providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, allocate to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan funds in the manat equivalent of two million U.S. dollars from the presidential reserve fund provided for in the state budget for 2025,” the order states. Aliyev also instructed the Ministry of Finance to ensure the allocation of the specified amount, while the government is tasked with addressing related issues arising from the decree. Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed communications with the United States and European countries, as well as cooperation in the energy sector, during a conversation with President Aliyev.
