Russia seeks to drive a wedge between NATO and EU

Russia understand that dividing the two organizations would serve its interests and allow it to try and achieve a victory in Ukraine. Swedish politician suggested this in an interview with BILD. "I think the Kremlin and Putin himself realise that they will lose this war. But I think Russia is very much interested in dividing us politically, both within the EU and in NATO," Jonson pointed out He added that Russia is ready to take big military risks and reorganize its military order for the sake of that, hinting at attacking NATO member states. However, Jonson is not among those who think that such an attack is inevitable "The best thing we can do to preserve peace in Europe is to make NATO strong and focus on deterrence and defence," the Swedish minister claimed. Earlier, multiple European leaders have voiced concerns over Russia's possible attack on NATO in the following 2-5 years.
