Passenger plane crashes in South Korea – details

A passenger plane flying from Thailand crashed at Muan Airport in South Korea. It caught fire after skidding off the runway and crashing into a wall. There were 181 people on board, FREEDOM reported, citing Reuters. Yonhap reports that the death toll from the crash has risen to 120. It is also known that two people survived. According to preliminary data, the cause of the accident could have been a landing gear failure, possibly due to the plane colliding with a flock of birds. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause. As previously reported, on December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines, flying from Baku to Grozny (JS-8432), crashed at Aktau Airport in western Kazakhstan. Of the 67 people on board, 38 died, and 29, including two children, were hospitalized. Only two of the crew survived.
