Gauteng and KZN are important provinces for the party, says ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula.

The party's national leaders were given a week to develop a proposal on reconfiguring the leadership for Gauteng and KZN.

ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said the party cannot afford to lose power in KZN and Gauteng like how they did in Western Cape.

The ANC did not disband its KZN and Gauteng PECs but opted for 'reconfiguration', leaving Panyaza Lesufi and Siboniso Duma in limbo.
