Squid Game 2: Three Filming Locations Revealed! Squid Game was first aired in 2021, and it enthralled viewers with its exciting plot and strong narrative of social injustice. Winning honors like Screen Actors Guild Award, Primetime Emmy Award, Critics’ Choice Television Award, and Gotham Independent Film Award, the revolutionary K-drama had its viewers expecting the second part as season one had concluded with a suspense climax!!!!! On the eve of its release, let’s have a closer look at the intriguing shooting locations that turn this dystopian drama into the screen. Squid Game takes well-known children's games and turns them into deadly games as 456 players with large amounts of debt compete for a chance to win a large sum of money. The show has an air of mystery and turns deep social commentary into an easily digestible television show that would remain a part of the cultural society. The second season has recently been released and started on 26 December 2024, thus, presenting seven tense episodes for the finale of the series in 2025. The upcoming season will feature a great slate of new and recurring cast. Lee Jung-jae once again portrays Seong Gi-hun while front man is portrayed again by Lee Byung-hun; there is Gong Yoo and Wi Ha-jun who are favorite characters of this series, jun-ho the detective is actually the front man's brother. The season starts right where we left- Gi-hun with his new red hair and ready to go head to head with the Recruiter. Filled with a desire to participate in the destruction of the games from within, he rejoins as Player 456 to confront the new challenges and the new shades of his fellow competitors. Compared to the first season which was shot primarily in Seoul and other privately rented studios, the second adds some fairly stunning shooting locations. Here are the standout spots: 1. Daejeon Expo Science Park Dedicated to the people of Daejeon, this huge park is the real-life setting of several shooting locations. It includes some famous spots, such as the Hanbit Tower and the World Expo Memorial Museum, the park also has elaborate replicas of the show's iconic sets. Season 2 revitalised maze corridors, showed in wider and brighter colours. The dormitory set is back with new modifications; new elements are X and O zones that are to be critical in the storyline, sparking intense conflicts. 2. Incheon International Airport Being the main airport in South Korea, Incheon International Airport combines the functions of the transport center and the art space, which includes sculpture museums. In Squid Game 2, this place becomes part of the plot and scenes are shot in front of real people in the background. 3. Seongapdo Island The show's games unfold at crescent-shaped Seongapdo Island located near Incheon. The actual competitions are performed in studios, but the landscapes of the island fit the gloomy solitude that is the heart of the show. Although owned mostly by private individuals and not open to the general public you'll find it adds an appealing mysterious quality to the show.
