Exclusive: Patralekhaa Talks About Her Character in Wild Wild Punjab and more..

Patralekhaa shines brightly in Netflix's latest release "Wild Wild Punjab," stealing hearts with her portrayal of Radha. Amidst the backdrop of heartbroken friends embarking on a wild adventure, her performance stands out as the film's unexpected gem. We had an opportunity to have a conversation with Patralekhaa on her character in the film, fashion and much more. On landing on back-to-back projects this year. That's an incredible achievement. How are you feeling about it all?  I am happy, I feel not satisfied but I just feel like you know as an actor you're always working towards your next and just to get such distinct characters, that's very exciting and that's very satisfying. How did manage to get into the character so effortlessly and how did you prepare for it? Were there any extra additions from your end as well or it was just the director's vision? It's always the director's vision but we did a couple of readings and I didn't know much about the culture of Punjab, the max I knew about Punjab was what I watched in the movies, so I was a little oblivious about the surroundings and it's always nice to know more about a place that you're shooting, a place that your character belongs to and it was very strange, I was going to Chandigarh, I was in the airport and I picked up this book called The Last Queen, it's by Chitra Banerjee and I don't know why the book found me because I'm a firm believer that a book finds you, it literally found me and I was like this can be interesting because it's on Punjab and the journey that I took while shooting and while reading the film I got a proper glimpse of Punjab and the things that I took back from reading the book that people of Punjab are fearless , be it the men, women and Maharani herself was God fearing, so if you see like Radha keeps praying to God that's one thing I took from Maharani with Jindal Kaur, so these are the things that was quite interesting during my journey of this film you know it's like apples and oranges, our film is so different than what actually the history of Punjab. Are there any aspects of your character in Wild Wild Punjab that you personally resonate with? Not really, Radha is very different than the person that I am, I would just not marry anybody I would also call off my wedding if somebody asked for a dowry and just get married to any random, I don't think I'd do that and also I like the fact that how she became like a boy's boy during her course of the trip, I don't talk to strangers, hence I would never do that and then she takes out a gun and starts firing, I'm nothing like her, she's nothing like me. It's very difficult to know the honest reactions when your project releases on an OTT platform and we define the success parameter of the project, so as an actor what would you prefer more, like the OTT platform or the theatrical release in future ? Now my releases are on OTT apart from Phule, a theatrical release is quite a baggage to carry there's a lot riding on that Friday, that weekend, that Monday, that Tuesday, it's quite anxiety driven with the OTT it was quite a smooth journey since yesterday because first half nobody watched the film because everybody was at work people started, I think it started gaining momentum, as in I started getting calls from people after like 10.30 at night because I guess that's when they tuned into it, I've been getting so many messages since morning so I feel like it's slow but it's like, it picks up with each and every day, so I think this full one week will be quite interesting to see how it pans out. You have also completed 10 years in the industry this year so was there anything that you unknowingly manifested so much and it actually came true?  I manifested every part of my life and I'm a believer in doing things, I'm a believer in working really hard because it never goes for a waste and you have to work hard and perhaps you don't see the results then and there but believe me, you will get what you sow, you will reap what you sow. You are considered a fashion icon in the industry and your eye-blazing fashion style is inspiring the masses and your fans so what are the 3 must-have items in your wardrobe? High heels, a white crisp shirt and a nice LBD these are classics, you cannot go wrong, even in your worst days you can just pull that out and wear it . What is that go-to outfit or piece of clothing that makes you feel confident inside out? A white crisp shirt and blue denim, I think you can never go wrong with it. A fashion advice you would want to give to your younger self ? Don't follow trends, be classic. Follow Ipopdiaries for more such exclusive content.
