Hearts of Oak have reportedly parted ways with attacker Asamoah Boateng Afriyie.The forward is leaving the Ghana Premier League giants after spending just one season at the club.Hearts of Oak announced the signing of Asamoah Boateng Afriyie from Nations FC in July 2024.The 27-year-old signed for the Phobians on a three-year deal in the weeks leading to the start of the 2024/25 Ghana football season."A warm Phobian welcome to Asamoah Boateng Afriyie! We're thrilled to have you join the Hearts of Oak family,” a club statement from Hearts of Oak said at the time.Despite being recruited with a lot of expectations, Asamoah Boateng Afriyie could not match those expectations.He struggled to perform and failed to score the many goals fans thought he would score for the club to increase their chances of challenging for the Ghana Premier League title.With new head coach Didi Dramani looking to build a formidable squad for the 2025/26 football season, reports indicate that Asamoah Boateng Afriyie has been released.It is understood that he has left the club by mutual consent.
