The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that four referees from the “Catch Them Young” programme will officiate the curtain-raiser match of the 2025 Democracy Cup, which pits Members of Parliament against the Judiciary.Christopher Okpoti will serve as the centre referee, with Andy Afotey Annan and Kamal Iddrisu as assistants. Nana Kofi Amoah has been named the fourth official.The special encounter, which symbolises unity and national celebration, will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium, kicking off at 1 pm local time (13:00 GMT).On the parliamentary side, Majority Leader Hon. Mahama Ayariga and Minority Leader Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin will feature, alongside staff of Parliament. They will face a Judiciary team made up of judges and staff of the Judicial Service.The match opens the second edition of the Democracy Cup, a tournament introduced to commemorate Ghana’s commitment to parliamentary democracy.
