Black Princesses head coach Yussif Basigi has revealed that the team is heavily backed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Sports Ministry as they prepare for the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.Ghana qualified for its seventh consecutive World Cup at this level and will be one of four countries representing the African continent.Reflecting on their past performances, where the team failed to progress beyond the first stage in their six previous attempts between 2012 and 2022, Basigi is hopeful for a different outcome this year.While acknowledging the poor results in the past, Basigi was optimistic ahead of the upcoming edition given the support from authorities."I know Ghanaians are expecting us to go beyond the group stage, that is a paramount expectation. We also have it in mind," Basigi said in an interview with the Ghana Football Association Media.
