Building Faster Fund money going to pumping station project

The City of Belleville will be using Building Faster Fund money on Phase 1 of the Avonlough Pumping Station. Council chose to add $801,000 to the project and reduce Ontario Community Infrastructure Funding by the same total in the city’s 2025 Capital Budget at its meeting on Monday. That provincial funding was representative of the city coming close to hitting its housing start target last year. The province determined 250 new residential units were started in 2024, just shy of the 258 starts target.
