Belleville man charged in fatal hit-and-run on Old Highway 2

Belleville police have charged a 43-year-old man in connection with the fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred late Wednesday night on Old Highway 2. Police, Fire and Hastings Quinte Paramedics responded to the scene after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. Upon arrival, a 36-year-old Belleville man was transported to Belleville General Hospital and pronounced deceased by medical staff.  With the assistance of the Criminal Investigations Division and the Traffic Safety Unit, the Belleville Police arrested Joseph Scott Nestler, of Belleville, on Thursday afternoon.
