Belleville, QW cooling centres open

Residents of Belleville and Quinte West can have a break from the heat at area cooling stations this week. The Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre and Belleville Public Library will be open in response to forecasted high temperatures. In Quinte West, the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena will be open daily beginning Monday until Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The City of Quinte West activates a cooling centre at the Duncan McDonal Memorial Community Gardens in Trenton when there are two consecutive days of temperatures of 31 degrees or higher or humidex values of 35 degrees Celsius or higher.
