Poor air quality statement issued for Quinte

Environment Canada has issued a poor air quality statement for the Quinte Region. The weather agency says smoke from forest fires over Northern Ontario is causing or is expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility. Officials say the poor air quality may persist through Monday and possibly into Tuesday for some areas. As smoke levels increase, health risks increase, the statement reads. Limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.
