A “Celebration of the Arts” will be held at the end of the month to promote the proposed performing arts centre. Billed as a “one-of-a-kind, experiential event designed to showcase and celebrate arts and culture in our community,” it will be held at the proposed site of the Kamloops Centre for the Arts at the old Kamloops Daily News site on Seymour Street from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 29. Local arts and culture organizations will take part. “We welcome residents of all ages,” said Dušan Magdolen, the City’s cultural services and events manager. “This event is for everyone and will have something for everyone, just like the Kamloops Centre for the Arts will. Our goal is to showcase the varied opportunities the Kamloops Centre for the Arts will offer in a fun, unique, experiential way.
