Little damage done in natural gas leak in Belleville

Damage was limited in a natural gas leak in Belleville on Tuesday. The incident happened at a house on Harris Crescent, off Tracey Street near Georges Vanier Elementary School, Belleville Deputy Fire Chief Mark Shannon said. Construction workers were doing some home renovations, and reportedly pierced the gas line going into the house with a shovel.  Firefighters arrived and evacuated the immediate area, which consisted of any homes within 100 metres of the leak. Enbridge Gas officials arrived on scene to relieve fire crews and determined the leak to be small. They shut off the gas in order to repair the line before departing....
