Huawei HarmonyOS 6.0 Beta Released for Developers

HarmonyOS 6.0 is the latest version of Huawei's operating system, which is used not only on smartphones but also on their tablets, laptops, watches, TVs, connected devices, cars and smart televisions. The latest version of this operating system was shown off during the Huawei Developer Conference event that took place last weekend.Improvements have been made to HMAF (HarmonyOS Multi-Agent Framework) which allows various artificial intelligence (AI) agents to run directly on HarmonyOS 6.0 devices. Through the integration of these agents, applications installed on the device can be instructed to perform certain tasks but the user does it manually.Celia's artificial intelligence has also been improved under the Harmony Intelligence umbrella. A Google Circle to Search-like feature is supported by the virtual assistant that can understand the context of the image on the screen and also what is being viewed through the smartphone's camera, for example.Finally, there is a new Touch and Share feature that allows files to be sent from the phone to the laptop by simply touching the screen. Previously, through Huawei Share, the phone was touched to a special sensor built next to the laptop's keyboard. In the demo shown, videos from the phone are sent directly to the CapCut app by touching the screen without the user having to manually input them.This feature can also send a single file to multiple other devices at once. This is different from Apple's AirDrop or Google's QuickShare systems which send files to multiple nearby devices one by one. The HarmonyOS 6.0 beta version is now available for download by developers.
