Norwegian defense company to open branch office in Ukraine

Norway’s defense company Radionor Communications will open its service center in Ukraine. The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, an Ukrinform reports. Ukrainian Defense Deputy Minister Valerii Churkin held talks with the representatives of Norway’s Radionor Communications about the development of cooperation. The Norwegian delegation at the meeting was led by Radionor Communications CEO Raymond Søderholm. Churkin thanked the people and leadership of Norway, as well as the Norwegian company, for supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian armed aggression. Radionor has long been a supplier of electronic warfare technologies for Ukraine’s Defense Forces. At the meeting, the parties discussed new challenges in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the front and ways to address them. Additionally, the meeting participants spoke about prospects for establishing Radionor’s service center in Ukraine. “There is a pressing need for communications technologies resilient to electronic warfare, especially for UAV operations in Ukraine. Together with our Ukrainian partners and with support from the Norwegian government, we expect to deliver more systems. Our goal is to improve UAV capabilities and support the Ukrainian army in mastering their use,” Søderholm noted. According to Churkin, having a company’s representative office in Ukraine will simplify the maintenance of its products, enable professional training for Ukrainian personnel, and ultimately ensure these systems are used as effectively as possible A reminder that Norway received 443 Ukrainian war-injured patients for treatment.
