Olympic committee, triathlon federation earn $$ boost

The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) and the TT Triathlon Federation (TTTF) have received a financial boost from the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs ahead of upcoming events. Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Phillip Watts “has bolstered TT’s sporting ambitions by presenting substantial funding to key athletic organisations,” a statement on Watts’ Facebook page said. The TTOC received $1 million towards the Junior Pan Am Games and the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Beach Games. [caption id="attachment_1166760" align="alignnone" width="1024"] President of the TTTF Douglas D'Abadie, right, is all smiles as holds a cheque alongside Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Phillip Watts. -[/caption] The TTTF walked away with $647,920 for the Carifta Triathlon Championships. “These investments will propel team TTO toward success at the 2025 Junior Pan Am...CAC Beach Games and support Tobago in hosting the Carifta Triathlon Championships this August,” the statement said.
