Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung hosted a delegation from the Polish Sejm July 1 in Taipei City, at which cultural exchange and economic cooperation were discussed. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the group included the Sejm Poland-Taiwan Parliamentarian Group members Łukasz Horbatowski, Marek Chmielewski and Iwona Krawczyk. Lin thanked the Polish parliamentarians for long-standing support for Taiwan, adding that in recent years the two countries have deepened cooperation in education, judicature and technology. Blueberry exports from Poland have recently been approved by Taiwan and Lin noted that this would benefit both Polish farmers and local consumers. Taiwan is at the global forefront of information and communication technologies and that Poland has a strong professional workforce and advanced production capabilities, Lin said. The two countries thus have potential to collaborate on advanced chips, artificial intelligence and drones to forge a resilient democratic supply chain. Horbatowski commented that he was impressed with Taiwan’s politics and advanced economy and anticipated that the two nations would continue to work together in agriculture and high-tech to further improve the standard of living in both nations. Taiwan and Poland share universal values of democracy and freedom and the MOFA committed to continued cooperation to deepen partnerships and create sustainable prosperity.
