The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has carried out a scouting exercise in the Middle Belt as part of its ongoing efforts to identify and select players for the Elite Academies. At the Atonsu Astroturf in Kumasi, more than 90 boys from the Ashanti Region took part in the screening, while an additional 70 players were assessed at the Penkwase Astroturf in the Bono Ahafo Region during the final session. The exercise was supervised by a technical team led by FIFA Talent Coach Stuart McClaren, Elite Academy Manager Joseph Tetteh Zutah, and National U-15 Coach and Scout Manager Fataw Salifu. The programme is designed to spot outstanding young talents and also replace players moving on to Senior High School (SHS) 2 this year, ensuring a continuous talent pipeline within the academies. This initiative forms part of the GFA’s wider grassroots development strategy, aimed at providing structured pathways for young footballers to progress into the national football setup.
