Northumberland OPP brief: speeding; fleeing police; impaired driving

Northumberland OPP responded to a number of incidents and speeding charges were among highest in the central region through the Civic Day Long Weekend. From August 1 through August 4, 2025, the focus was on the following offences and number of charges are as follows: -      Speeding                                                                112 -      Seatbelt                                                                  4 -      Distracted driving                                                   1          -      Impaired driving                                                     7 -      Fail to move over for emergency vehicles           3 The OPP are reminding motorists to slow down and make safe driving a priority.
