Woman charged with impaired driving and flight from Belleville police

A 45-year-old woman was charged with impaired driving and flight from a peace officer following a police chase in Belleville on Thursday evening. City police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically in the city’s east end on Highway 2. An officer located the suspect vehicle, which was observed swerving on the road and travelling significantly below the posted speed limit. Police activated their emergency lights in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver failed to stop.
