Prohibited driver charged in Northumberland County

A person from Scarborough was charged for being a prohibited driver in Northumberland County this past weekend. Northumberland OPP stated it got an alert around 9:15 Sunday night that a plate attached to a silver Toyota sedan travelling on County Road 45 was a suspended driver. Police stated an officer on duty noticed the driver quickly switch seats with an individual that was in the passenger seat after stopping the vehicle. Following investigation, police charged 49-year-old Melchor Rodriguez with operating a vehicle while prohibited and obstructing a peace officer.
