You’re invited to a Bittersweet Birthday party next week!

World Eater Games and DANGEN Entertainment are counting down to the release of their upcoming action-adventure title, Bittersweet Birthday, in one week. The game places players in the role of an amnesiac protagonist who is guided by a mysterious voice while being pursued by unknown forces. Drawing inspiration from classic PC boss-rush games, Bittersweet Birthday emphasizes challenging combat with intricately designed encounters. Each boss battle features multiple phases that require quick reflexes, pattern recognition, and adaptability. Between battles, players can explore a colorful world populated by various characters, side stories, and hidden locations, all illustrated in detailed hand-drawn pixel art. The game also includes a small village hub where players can interact with residents, uncover quests, and learn more about the world and its lore. In addition to combat and exploration, Bittersweet Birthday offers a range of optional activities and collectibles. Players can participate in a darts-themed mini-game, collect 48 Gachapon-style items, and encounter a range of lighthearted characters, including an in-game dog. The game maintains a retro aesthetic while blending modern design elements to create a unique experience. Bittersweet Birthday is set to launch on PC on November 11, 2025, priced at $19.99, with console versions planned for release at a later date. A free demo is currently available on Steam, allowing players to experience a portion of the gameplay, meet the cast of characters, and try out some of the challenging boss fights ahead of the full release.
