Celebrating a Legacy of Cultural Excellence: Yinka Akanbi, Grand Ambassador of Culture and Tradition

Oyewole OluwatofunmiYinka Akanbi is a celebrated film director, producer, writer, and scriptwriter with over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He is the founder and CEO of Pisces Audio-Visual Limited, a leading production company in Lagos, Nigeria.Akanbi has written and directed numerous documentaries, TV commercials, films, and dramas, including "Eyes Wide Open", "Daodu of Nigerian Theatre", and "Treasures of Nigeria", which has been nominated for an award. He has also produced two home videos, "Yemisi Owereke" and "Ewonlaafin", which was showcased at the Toscana Festival in Italy. His TV soaps include "This Life", "Odd World", "Behind the Siege", and "So Wrong So Wright". Currently, he is working on a documentary about the Gelede Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.On August 31, 2024, during the investiture of its 10th President, ROTN Oyebode Adegboyega Adesina, the Rotary Club of Orita-Mefa, Ibadan District 9126, honored Yinka Akanbi with the prestigious title of Grand Ambassador of Culture and Tradition in Film Production and Theatre Practice.This well-deserved recognition celebrates Yinka Akanbi's remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry, spanning over three decades. As a seasoned film producer, actor, scriptwriter, and director, Yinka has consistently created culturally relevant and family-friendly content, including films, TV series, TV commercials, and documentaries.Through his work, Yinka has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to promoting Nigerian culture and values, making him a beacon of excellence in the industry.
