Kenya Expands Fertiliser Subsidy Programme to Boost 2026 Crop Output

The government of Kenya has expanded its fertiliser subsidy programme ahead of the 2026 long rains season, reinforcing efforts to stabilise food production and shield farmers from volatile global input prices. Under the revised framework, additional fertiliser volumes have been allocated to the National Cereals and Produce Board depots across key grain-growing counties including Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia and Nakuru.
