Bhutanese para shot putter Chimi Dema of Mongar is preparing for her sixth international competition, the World Para Athletics Grand Prix, which will take place in New Delhi, India, from March 8 to 13. The 31-year-old, a sports science student at the Royal Thimphu College, will be Bhutan’s sole representative at the event. She is expected to perform well at the upcoming world championship. Chimi Dema, who competes in the Women’s F40 shot put category, has been training rigorously for the past two weeks at the Bhutan Amateur Federation’s ground in Thimphu under coach Lhaba Tshering. Her training includes two-hour morning and evening sessions, as well as gym workouts at the Changlimithang Sports Complex.
