By Sunday Afolayan His Royal Majesty, the Onigogo of Igogo Ekiti Kingdom, Oba (Barr) Sunday Olusola Adewumi, JP, has conferred the most prestigious honourary title of Asiwaju of Igogo Ekiti Kingdom on Dr Moses Kolawole Adeniyi Ojo in recognition of his selfess service to humanity in commemoration of his 80th birthday anniversary. Confering the title on him during his visit to New Jersey, United States of America recently, the monarch stated the octogenarian medical doctor deserved the honour in recognition of his extraordinary dedication and unwavering commitment to community engagement and selfless service to humanity.Accordingly to him, Dr Ojo has been a shining example of selflessness, tirelessly working to improve the lives of others, often at great personal sacrifice, while his contributions to Igogo Ekiti community have been nothing short of transformative, inspiring countless individuals and organisations to follow in his footsteps.Through remarkable works, the Oba asserted Ojo has demonstrated a profound understanding of the complexities of human need, consistently seeking innovative solutions to address the most pressing and fundamental challenges facing our society, fostering a culture of empathy, inclusivity and collective action."We decided to honuor Chief Dr Ojo with this coveted title today because of his remarkable achievements, not only in his medical profession, but in other capacities as a game changer, which have earned him a revered place in the hearts of our community. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations to embrace the values of hard work, compassion and selfless service", Oba Adewumi stressed.Onigogo expressed gratitude to him and his wife, Chief Dr Mrs Ololade Ojo, for the roles they have played in the development and transformation of Igogo Ekiti, describing them as wonderful personalities and shinning illumination, whose lives have brought hope to the hopeless, guiding the people towards a brighter and more fulfilled life. Dr Ojo, who was obviously elated by this coveted recognition, thanked the Oba and his Council for counting him worthy of this chieftaincy, saying his greatest joy is in doing his best, especially in such services that could benefit his people and humanity. While dedicating the title to God for sparing his life this far, he charged the younger generation to imbibe the culture of decent living and embrace hard work and dedication, rather than seeking overnight wealth at the detriment of their lives and the society. In addition to the recent elevation, Dr Ojo, author of the highly acclaimed historical narrative - "Compedium of Igogo Ekiti Kingdom", holds the title of Bobagunwa of Igogo Ekiti Kingdom, while his wife - a former Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti (FETHI), remains the Yeye Oba of Igogo Ekiti Kingdom.
